Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM (PT)
We will sail 27 miles outside the Golden Gate to the Farallon National Wildlife Refuge. We should arrive around mid-day for some sightseeing as we sail close to the islands. Marine mammals and seabirds abound and Great White Sharks also frequent the area. The trip includes a light breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Depending on the weather, this can be a challenging sail, so be prepared.
At Call of the Sea, our mission is to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with the sea aboard traditional sailing vessels through educational programs that focus on marine sciences, nautical heritage, and the traditions of the sea. Our youth-oriented sail training programs are designed to build self-confidence, discipline, and teamwork as part of a ship’s crew. Schooner Seaward also offers Community Sails, Special Events, and Private Charters.
